Andrea Amico, the founder of Privacy4Cars.com, the compliance committee co-chair at the International Automotive Remarketers Alliance, and a renowned vehicle privacy and cybersecurity advocate will moderate this session where you will hear firsthand from an ethical hacker about the existence of a new, concerning vehicle hack that affects an estimated tens of millions of vehicles worldwide and exploits infotainment systems of several makes via the Bluetooth protocol to expose contacts, phone logs, and, in some cases, even full text messages. The discussion will focus on how the “white hat” hacker worked alongside the Auto-ISAC since the discovery, outline the regulatory landscape, and help pinpoint how you should start thinking about security and privacy for cars - especially with shared connected vehicles. The goal of the session will be to identify the role YOU can take: raising awareness, implementing safety nets, and proactively push for privacy-by-design.
